Happy Whole Human® · How We Teach

Our Learning Philosophy

"There is a We in Wellness."

Great coaches are not lectured into existence. They grow through community, safe practice, honest feedback and guides who model what they teach. These eight principles shape every Happy Whole Human® coach training program.

Eight essential elements

What we believe about learning

We believe eight essential elements are conducive to Happy Whole Human® coach training.

1

Community

Every class has its own unique community.

2

Safe practice

Students need the opportunity to practice skills in a safe environment.

3

Whole-person growth

Each student is unique and needs a stimulating environment to grow physically, mentally, emotionally and socially.

4

Belonging

Students feel safe to express and accept themselves for who they are, and to embrace the differences of others.

5

Ethical guides

Instructors act as consistent, ethical, transparent and reliable guides, adapting lessons based on student feedback.

6

Passion

Passion for the practice of coaching is demonstrated and inspired.

7

Active learning

Hands-on and cooperative learning, projects and individual work engage and activate learning.

8

Technology fluency

Technology runs throughout, and students demonstrate the communication skills a modern practice needs, from email to Zoom.

Philosophy in practice

How it shows up in your training

Principles only matter when you can feel them in the room. Here is where they live in HWH® programs.

Live and on-demand

Programs blend live instruction on Zoom with eCourse content in an integrated LMS. Level 1 combines 30 hours live with 30 hours of eCourses.

A weekly learning community

Every Monday brings office hours, group supervision, ICF group mentoring and the HWH Happy Hour, 35 weeks a year.

Supervised practice

Skills are practiced and observed, including a 20-week Advanced Practicum and mentoring with Dr. Lisa Leit, MCC.

Built on ICF competencies

Curriculum maps to the ICF Core Competencies, from Ethical Practice and Coaching Mindset to Evoking Awareness.

Feedback that sharpens skill

Instructors adapt to student feedback, and Ovida AI gives real-time feedback on coaching against the ICF PCC markers.

Faculty who practice

Our faculty are working, credentialed coaches and specialists who model the ethics and presence they teach.

"We're not just here to train you. We're here to build with you."
Dr. Lisa Leit, Co-Founder and CEO
